Islamic Relief’s Dedication to Women’s Programs

In times of worsening living conditions for vulnerable communities, the impact is even more pronounced for women. Many find themselves widowed in dire circumstances, becoming the sole providers for their families. Empowering women is crucial for global development, and Islamic Relief is committed to providing equal opportunities and resources.

Our dedication extends to women's programs across various sectors, including food aid, water and sanitation, health, education, socio-economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Globally, we strive to empower women to become leaders not only in their homes but also in their communities.

This year, we're focusing on programs that prioritize maternal health, recognizing its pivotal role in community well-being.

In Afghanistan

We are dedicated to enhancing maternal and child health services, focusing on improving nutrition for under-five children and pregnant/lactating women (PLW), ultimately aiming to enhance the overall health of mothers and babies.

In Niger

Our efforts include improving access to quality nutrition healthcare services for children, strengthening human resources for effective malnutrition management, empowering women with tools for nutrition-responsive food production, and more.

In Palestine

We are working on boosting the capacity of NGO hospitals to deliver high-quality healthcare to women and children. This involves constructing a hospital newborn nursery unit and enhancing primary care clinics with necessary resources like medicines, nutritive supplements, and laboratory equipment for antenatal and well-child care. Additionally, we are procuring and installing dental units and other essential equipment.

In yemen

Our focus is on rehabilitating and improving the nutrition of acutely malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women. We're also enhancing the skills of health workers and community health volunteers to effectively manage acute malnutrition and improving food security for families suffering from malnutrition.
